ODE TO AN ART PIONEER

He is not a name synonymous with sunflowers. He did not become the Grandfather of Expressionism, yet so he might be called. Instead he is the lampoon of a Scottish Curator’s snide remarks.

Yet he was a pioneer. He was a visionary. He was classically trained and this painting I love was one he did because he wanted to express how he FELT about the wind in the trees. How he FELT about the colours and the textures. He wanted to EXPRESS not simply replicate. For this I thank and love him. So here, is my Ode to you Great Man.
