Cottonwood Forest

An experimental piece, I am fascinated by the way light plays on cottonwoods: how their skins are shed; how temporary they are.  Fast to grow and fast to die.  I see in them something of humanities need to have immediate gratification, no time for an oak to grow old with, instead there is a cottonwood – beautiful, frail and whimsical.  They may well be my sunflowers.
